Description
Propylene is a colorless, odorless, slightly sweet flammable gas that produces a bright flame when burned and has a low explosion limit (2% to 11.1%). It has low solubility in water but is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.

Polypropylene Production
Propylene is the main raw material for the production of polypropylene. Polypropylene has good heat resistance and mechanical properties and is widely used in the manufacture of plastic products such as films, pipes, injection molded products, etc.
Acrylonitrile Production
Propylene can be used to synthesize acrylonitrile, which is an important chemical raw material for the manufacture of synthetic fibers, synthetic rubber and plastics.
Propylene Oxide And Isopropanol Production
Propylene can also be used to produce propylene oxide and isopropanol. Propylene oxide is an important raw material for the production of polyurethane, while isopropanol plays a role in solvents, chemical intermediates, etc.
Organic Synthesis
Propylene is widely used in organic synthesis and can be used to produce compounds such as ketones, isopropylbenzene, isopropyl alcohol, isopropyl halide and propylene oxide. These compounds are further used to manufacture drugs, chemical intermediates and advanced chemicals.
Fuel Synthesis
Through polymerization reactions, propylene can be converted into a mixture of advanced hydrocarbons and used as a substitute for fuel.
